Glee star helps fans to come out

Naya Rivera, who plays Santana Lopez on the hit musical TV show, has spoken of how her lesbian role helps fans to come out.

In an interview with FHM, she spoke of her lesbian storyline with Heather Morris (who plays Brittany S. Pierce): "The reaction has been overwhelming. I've had tons of mail from fans about how my storyline enabled them to come out."

In other Glee-related news, Jane Lynch told TV host Chelsea Lately that she came out to her parents via letter. She came out aged 32 after speaking to her therapist:

"I was living the gay lifestyle prior to [coming out to them]. I was distanced from my parents. And I felt very, very separate from them.

"So I wrote them a letter pouring my heart out. But you're given a stamp and an envelope after you write it!"
