TV: Strong Opinions on Dates

Last night’s episode of Dates was an interesting one. On one hand, we cancelled all plans to make sure we were home early enough to see an actual portrayal of lesbians on the telly. But on the other, we weren’t too sure what to make of the numerous questions that the 30 minute episode brought up. Was it an accurate representation of gay girls? Did the writers use the clichéd predatory lesbian storyline? And was there evidence of biphobia in there?

Erica and Kate2 We’ve been hooked on the new Channel 4 series Dates since we saw the loveable lorry driver David have dinner with the beautiful, but bitchy, Mia. We can't actually contain our excitment for tonight’s episode, which features two very hot lesbians meeting at a bar.
