Lesbian singers reach number 11

l-projectIt Does Get Better has reached number 11 in the independent singles chart this week. The charity hit was recorded by a group of lesbian singers and band members in an attempt raise money to battle homophobia in schools. The L Project has held it's number one position on the Amazon charts for seven days and the video on Youtube have reached 86,000 hits in the first week, and is now in excess of the 100k mark.

g3 readers' awards 2012 announced

 suran_dicksonBritain’s foremost gay events and publishing company, Square Peg Media, have published the results of g3 Reader’s Awards 2012 polled from their magazine for lesbian and bisexual women. The Awards are an indication of satisfaction and congratulations from the core readership to the companies nominated in categories as diverse as clubs, bars, websites, travel and housing, through to charities such as Stonewall, the political and human rights advocates.

Book prize given to novel celebrating LGBT authors

hall_proofofloveCatherine Hall has won the Green Carnation Literary Prize. Hall’s second novel “The Proof of Love” won the prize, which celebrates writing by LGBT authors.

BBC newsreader Jane Hill announces on Twitter she is to marry her girlfriend

JANE_HILLThe news presenter who came out as gay in 2009 announced the news on Twitter that she is to enter a civil partnership with her live-in girlfriend, TV camerawoman Sara Shepherd, after 3 years.
