FILM>> Imagine Me & You, out 16 June |
|
I admit I am a sucker for a mushy film, but when the mushiness involves two lovely actresses (Lena Headey and Piper Perabo) who without a hint of death threat, drama or suicidal thoughts end up together… well then find myself in a pile of mush I never realise could exist! Imagine Me & You does exactly that – it is the warmest and fuzziest film to hit UK screens this summer. Lena Headey continues to mark her run as a damn sexy lesbian (check out Band of Gold and potentially Brothers Grimm – she claims her character was gay) and does a fine job at being a romantic lead. The story is simple: Rachel (Perabo) and Heck (Matthew Goode) are getting married. As Rachel walks down theaisle she catches the eye of Luce (Headey). As the weeks go on she realis es that the warm feeling she is getting from within her guts isn’t really for her husband… As I’ve already mentioned, Ol Parker, the director, has managed to blend romance, realism and comedy all into one film. He also got very lucky with his two leading ladies who have an incredible chemistry! Girls, trust your film buffette when she tells you – if you love a good British rom-com, can leave the cold heart at the door and want a movie that’ll make your heart melt, then get your trainers on and trek down to your local cinema (please note though Imagine Me & You is showing in selected cinemas).
