COMMUNITY WATCH>> Tha Sisterhood

My partner and I conceived the idea in October 2004, as we had just returned from 'In The Life Atlanta' - Black Gay Pride and yearned for the same diversity in the black social scene here as we had experienced there.

We also wanted a chance to get to know the people we were saying 'hello' to every month. We then started to have regular dinner parties and they were such a success that we thought 'why not do this on a bigger scale with a full range of activities?'

Membership is open to LBT women of Afican and Caribbean descent, although currently most events are open to members & Guests alike - As long as people abide byour ethos, which is 'We bring together professionally - minded black lesbians in a members' collective. to promote strength and empowerment through unity.'

We do intend to hold special events exclusively for our members.

Founders Sandra Smart & Andrea are planning their next event to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of 'Tha Sistahood' at 'The Ivy on 22nd April. To find out more about this event or for Membership enquiries contact:
